Dental specialists complete two to six extra years of training after dental school and usually work on referral from a general dentist, although most accept patients who call directly. Orthodontists straighten teeth with braces and clear aligners; endodontists handle root canals; periodontists treat gum disease and place implants; oral and maxillofacial surgeons extract wisdom teeth, place implants and do jaw surgery, often under IV sedation; prosthodontists rebuild smiles with crowns, bridges and dentures; denture centers focus on full and partial dentures, relines and repairs. Sedation and hospital dentists serve anxious patients and people with special needs, while TMJ and sleep-apnea dentists make oral appliances for jaw pain and snoring.

Rockville Centre is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rockville Centre is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

had my very first root canal done here and I could not be more grateful for how wonderful the experience was. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and very friendly from the moment I walked in. The doctor took the time to explain every step to me and made sure I felt comfortable and informed the whole time. The assistants were also incredibly professional and kind. What I thought would be a scary appointment ended up being so much easier thanks to them. I truly appreciate their care and highly recommend this office!

My daughter referred me to Dr.Shemanski and I’m glad I listened. My daughter really does her research on providers and Dr.Shemanski is hands down the best endodontist around. Other than her clear professional expertise, I must say she is a very kind and humble lady. You can tell she really cares about you and ensures she resolves the issue the best way possible. She makes you feel connected and comfortable right away. May God bless her! I would recommend her to anyone any day. She is a blessing.

I wish I could give 10 stars. This place is absolutely AMAZING!!!! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the sweetest receptionist who is an angel from up above. The office itself is beautiful, clean, modern and so relaxing. Dr. Megan Shemanski is incredible, she truly cares about her patients. My mom went to see her for an emergency route canal, she was able to put my extremely nervous mom at ease. If you need to see an Endodontist, look no further. She is the best of the best and so is her staff. Thank you for taking such good care of my mom.
